Dwayne Johson or more accurately “The Rock” fired back at those who complained about the type of language he uses during his presentations in the WWE due to the type of audience that it has which also includes children.
Dwayne added that he would not be tailoring his persona to fit network standards
Aaron Varble from SESCOOPS mentioned that there was a double standard with Johnson “I can exclusively report that a recent memo emphasized the need for talent to follow PG guidelines on TV and social media. Despite this, The Rock’s profanity, like in a recent promo, has raised questions among talent about double standards. They wonder why he’s allowed to curse while others aren’t.”
To which The Rock answered “The WWE recently issued a memo to wrestlers about the type of language it is allowed to be used “Networks and “standards & practices” have issues with my language, but I’d rather be real than not. I talk from the heart, shoot from the hip, and try to always have fun.”
In the latest edition of SmackDown, the Rock was censored for saying the word “horny”, after he spoke to the crowd by saying “You sound like somebody the Rock can love – drunk and horny”
The Rock mentioned Ja Morant in his latest song
During part of SmackDown, he sang a song to Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins where he mentioned Ja Morant’s least golden moments while waving a gun for fun last year.
“Cackling and dancing is all that you do,” Johnson sang. “No wonder that your wife’s more popular than you. You’re so damn desperate to make them all cheer, but The Rock is going to make that title, disappear. You’re simply an embarrassment, son. Just like Ja Morant when he’s waving a gun.”
As a result of Morant’s antics, he was suspended for the first 25 games.
